About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manually remove vegetation from work areas
- Apply pesticides
- Safely operate forestry equipment, including skidders, mowers, chainsaws, and ATVs
- Perform utility line clearance
- Perform pruning and tree removals
- Learn felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management
- Participate in paid hands-on on-the-job training
- Work outdoors in a year-round ground operations and arborist trainee role
Requirements
What you’ll need- No prior tree industry experience necessary
- Must be able to work 45 hours weekly
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED/or equivalent
- Current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather
- Physically able to walk on uneven ground and carry 75 lbs.
- Willingness to work at varying heights
- Willingness and ability to learn bucket truck operation and equipment safety
- Willingness and ability to obtain a CDL A or B license
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications
- Successful completion of post-offer physical and drug screen
- Successful completion of background and motor vehicle checks
- Ability to perform physical labor and work safely
