About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Explain CDPHP Medicare benefits and plans to prospective members
  • Assist CDPHP Medicare Authorized Agents with benefit inquiries, enrollment, and eligibility questions
  • Qualify prospective members and arrange enrollment meetings with CDPHP Authorized Sales Agents
  • Resolve eligibility and enrollment-related questions
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries by phone and email
  • Identify and solve problems by implementing appropriate departmental or organizational solutions
  • Remain current on Medicare guidelines and CDPHP policies and procedures
  • Meet monthly sales coaching and production standards
  • Enter accurate documentation in Macess, MARx, inContact, and CRM systems
  • Collaborate with other departments and team members to meet accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction goals
  • Conduct sales presentations for walk-in prospects
  • Adhere to Medicare, Department of Insurance, and company guidelines
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with corporate compliance requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree preferred
  • NYS Life, Accident and Health Insurance License required or secured within 60 days of hire
  • Successfully complete AHIP certification
  • Successfully complete product exams
  • Minimum two years of direct selling or telemarketing experience, or one year of experience in a health-related field
  • Experience with Medicare strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Experience with computer-based documentation systems or CRM software
  • Ability to apply problem-solving and time-management methodology
  • Demonstrated public speaking ability preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and make decisions based on prospective member needs, corporate underwriting guidelines, and federal Medicare Advantage regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet productivity and quality standards
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work from home when necessary and/or required by management
