About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build observability architecture spanning instrumentation, telemetry pipelines, storage, alerting, and automated response
  • Drive the vision and delivery of LSEG's observability architecture
  • Champion migration strategies from legacy monitoring to modern observability platforms
  • Drive AIOps integration for event correlation, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis
  • Define SLIs, SLOs, and telemetry data strategies balancing signal quality, coverage, and cost
  • Author observability standards, facilitate maturity assessments, and report on adoption across the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience in observability, monitoring, or site reliability engineering
  • Deep understanding of metrics, logs, and traces across distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience operating observability platforms
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipeline tools (e.g., Cribl, Vector)
  • Experience in Kubernetes and multi-cloud environments
  • Track record of delivering observability platforms across multiple teams or business units
  • Ability to present technical strategies to engineering teams and senior leadership
  • Nice to have: Experience with BigPanda, ServiceNow, or similar AIOps and ITSM integrations
  • Nice to have: Background in financial services or a regulated industry
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with observability-as-code using GitOps or infrastructure-as-code workflows
