About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters
Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and policy violations
Partner with outside legal counsel on employee issues as needed
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and the employee handbook
Manage full-cycle, end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
Prepare, file, and reconcile all federal and state payroll tax filings
Maintain and administer multi-state payroll operations
Analyze HR metrics and trends and present data-driven recommendations
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on job descriptions and onboarding processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations
Minimum of 5–7 years of direct, hands-on payroll processing experience
Demonstration of expertise in federal and multi-state payroll tax filings
Proven ability to identify, research, and resolve payroll tax discrepancies
Strong working knowledge of FLSA, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, NLRA, and applicable federal and state employment laws
Proficiency with HRIS and payroll platforms (e.g., Rippling, ADP Workforce Now, Paycom)
