About the role
- Develop project designs in conformance with the latest design standards.
- May be assigned management of projects and will be given budgetary limitations and staffing to complete the project.
- Stay current on available modeling software and utilizes it to efficiently design facilities.
- Develop, read, and interpret schematic and construction plans.
- Manage the production of drawings in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Perform design quantity computations and checks for developing opinions of probable construction cost.
- Understand and work with surveying data provided from survey department.
- Apply a variety of specification regulations, policies and standards to assure compliance with various Federal, State, and local rules and regulations.
- Work with clients to pursue project funding through available funding agencies while following funding agency practices and policies.
- Perform business development activities to assist with the growth of our Water Resources service line.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or other applicable engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- 10+ years of experience in this discipline
- Experience as project engineer or project manager for wastewater, drinking water, and/or stormwater design projects
- Experience with project management and accounting software is helpful
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
