About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the architecture and delivery of user-facing mission applications
- Build responsive interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data integrations
- Work directly with users and product stakeholders to understand workflows and refine capabilities
- Transition required functionality from legacy applications without disrupting operational use
- Establish practices for testing, code review, security, CI/CD, and production operations
- Diagnose complex application and integration issues across the stack
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decisions across the broader platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Eight or more years of professional software-engineering experience
- Strong experience with modern front-end development and at least one backend programming language
- Experience designing APIs, application services, and data-intensive systems
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals, including automated testing, source control, CI/CD, and production monitoring
- Demonstrated ownership of a major software capability from architecture through deployment
- Experience supporting a Department of Defense customer
- Active Secret clearance
- Preferred: Experience supporting the U.S. Army
- Preferred: Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, or Node.js
- Preferred: Familiarity with AWS, Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, or comparable platforms
- Preferred: Experience modernizing or replacing legacy applications
- Preferred: Experience building software in secure or regulated environments
- Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted software-development tools
