About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide over-the-phone and video-remote interpretation in English and Chuukese
- Bridge communication gaps for people requiring interpretation services
- Deliver reliable, unbiased, empathetic, courteous, accurate, and professional interpretation
- Complete onboarding assessments and a mock interpretation session
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fluency in English and Chuukese
- Dedication to delivering courteous, accurate, and professional interpretation services
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- English proficiency test with a “technical proficiency” rating (level 3 or higher on the ILR scale)
- Pass an online medical terminology assessment covering medical terms, anatomy, and physiology
- Successfully pass a live mock interpretation evaluation
- Background check and security screening
- Sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and confidentiality commitment, including HIPAA compliance
- Submit a resume
- Submit certifications showcasing language skills or relevant experience
- Mid-level experience indicated
- Prior Over-the-Phone and Video-Remote-Interpreter (OPI & VRI) experience is a plus, but not required
