Redesign and enhance documents, forms, and email templates to comply with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements.
Provide accessibility specifications for redesigned materials, including: Alternative text (alt text) for images and logos, Proper file naming conventions, link names, and structures, Correct use of tables, list formats, and heading styles, Compliance with color contrast ratios for readability, Accessibility of input fields and interactive elements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs meet functional, usability, and accessibility goals.
Perform accessibility reviews and recommend improvements for compliance and user experience.
Document design specifications and provide guidance for implementation and future maintenance.
Requirements
Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, Accessibility Specialist, or related role.
Strong knowledge of Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.x (Levels A & AA).
Hands-on experience designing, creating, and/or remediating Microsoft Office and PDF documents, as well as accessible email content.
Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and best practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to create clear, usable, and compliant designs.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred: Experience working with government or public sector accessibility requirements.
Preferred: Certification in accessibility (e.g., IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies – CPACC).
