About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
- Record monthly journal entries
- Record payroll and related provisions
- Prepare and review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements
- Produce and analyze financial statements and performance metrics
- Analyze variances between budget, forecasts and actual results
- Analyze margin by project and by client
- Collaborate with IT resources to optimize the ERP and financial tools
- Develop and optimize financial and operational performance tracking tools
- Contribute to the optimization and automation of business processes
- Prepare and file tax returns
- Execute payments (taxes and tax instalments)
- Prepare documentation for external audits
- Respond to auditors’ requests
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting compliance
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget
- Support operational teams in financial planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- CPA designation (required)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting/control
- Strong experience with the full accounting cycle and month-end close
- Experience in a consulting firm or professional services company is an asset
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
- Excellent Excel skills
- Thoroughness, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Team player with autonomy and proactivity
