About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides Tier-3 support related to server and related infrastructure.
- Responsible for adopting cloud computing technologies, infrastructure, and applications to meet the organization's requirements.
- Provides guidance and training to less experienced IT professionals.
- Responds to calls escalated by IS support teams.
- Serves as a technical lead in IS projects.
- Leads the planning, design and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to the virtual computing environment.
- Troubleshoots/replaces broken systems as appropriate.
- Represents IS in meetings regarding technical projects, issues, and initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum Years of Experience: 7 Years of experience in systems engineering/infrastructure development
- Substitutable Education & Experience: Experience can be substituted with a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience.
- Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
- Required Training: Proven experience supporting Windows-based servers;
- Deep understanding of virtualization technologies and best-practices including, but not limited to, VMware and Citrix environments;
- Extensive knowledge of highly available (HA) and fault tolerant (FT) systems;
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to server administration;
- Outstanding hardware/software troubleshooting skills;
- Enterprise support experience in a large environment;
- Experience designing, managing, and supporting Microsoft Active Directory domains.
