About the role
- Install, configure, and maintain servers
- Manage virtualization platforms and cloud services
- Microsoft AD support for On-Prem and Azure
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery solutions
- Implement and maintain security controls across servers, endpoints, and network infrastructure
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
- Monitor logs and alerts; respond to and document security incidents
- Enforce access controls, multi-factor authentication, and least-privilege policies
- Develop and maintain IT security policies and procedures
- Maintain infrastructure, switches, routers, and wireless networks
- Ensure secure remote access solutions for employees and vendors
- Optimize network performance and availability

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5+ years of experience in system administration and IT security
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Experience with firewalls, endpoint security tools, and backup systems
- Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
- Industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+, Microsoft, AWS, or similar), preferred
- Experience with SIEM tools and log analysis, preferred
- Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python), preferred
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, government), preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism and integrity
