About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

This position provides for Senior Leadership in Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical engineering solutions for new development projects at Leeward including wind, solar, and storage.
The primary responsibility is providing solutions to improve overall plant cost, operational costs, performance, reliability, and safety.
Reports to the Senior Director of Development Engineering.
Ensure the management and delivery of the preliminary internal engineering needed to support the Development pipeline.
Oversee and manage engineering activities, including preliminary and final geotechnical investigations, corrosion analysis, pile load testing, grading analysis, hydrology studies.
Ensure that issue for construction drawings and specifications are provided and documentation accurately reflects the installed facility.
Review civil calculations and plans to provide a 30% design package for contractor bids and work with contractors to further optimize the design to IFC.
Direct Mid and Junior Level civil engineers and review of their work, and mentor Junior Level Civil Engineers.

Requirements

What you’ll need

4-Year Bachelors Engineering Degree
Minimum 10 years of relevant technical experience; renewable power generation preferred.
Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate ideas to non-engineers.
Ability to remain focused and reliable in completing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and manage technical projects, including interaction with outside vendors.
Understanding of civil, geotechnical, and structural design as it relates to renewable energy projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a complex and dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license.
