About the role

  • Data migration: Proven experience migrating on-premises or other cloud environments to BigQuery.
  • Automation with Python: Ability to create Python scripts to automate complex data pipelines.
  • Reliability engineering (SRE for Data): Ability to design fault-tolerant, scalable systems in accordance with section 1.2 of the official Google guide.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certification: Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer (Required, per official guide v4.2).
  • BigQuery
  • Dataplex
  • Advanced experience in analytical data modeling.
  • Performance optimization through partitioning, clustering, and use of BigLake.
  • Writing complex SQL scripts, UDFs (User Defined Functions), and Stored Procedures.
  • Cost management (FinOps) via slot reservations and consumption monitoring.
  • Expertise in distributed data governance (Data Mesh).
  • Creation and management of Data Lakes, Zones, and Assets.
  • Automation of Data Quality and monitoring of Data Lineage.
  • Configuration of fine-grained access control (row-level and column-level security).
  • Strong integration with Cloud Storage, Dataflow (Apache Beam), and Cloud Composer (Airflow).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform for resource provisioning.
  • Analytics Engineering: Use of dbt (data build tool) or Dataform for transformations.
  • Integration with BI tools (Looker or Power BI).
