About the role

  • Prepare and monitor various budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
  • Analyze variances between planned and actual figures and derive appropriate measures.
  • Continuously develop, maintain and improve meaningful management reporting as well as cost center and cost unit accounting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for executive management and department heads and take responsibility for the costing of bids and projects in the business units.
  • Prepare remuneration negotiations with payers and participate in their execution.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic corporate objectives, taking into account profitability analyses and investment calculations.
  • Provide financial oversight for important projects (e.g., new construction, digitalization, personnel development).

Requirements

  • Degree in business administration, controlling, financial management or completed commercial training with relevant further qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in controlling, ideally in the social or non-profit sector.
  • Solid knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting and grant/funding management.
  • Experience working with controlling tools and ERP systems (e.g., Vivendi, DATEV) and very good Excel skills.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with a high degree of personal responsibility, a structured way of working and strong communication skills.
  • Preferably experience collaborating with cost and service providers/payers (e.g., KiBiZ, Employment Agency, LVR, etc.) and in the refinancing of services, as well as knowledge of non-profit law and social legislation (SGB VIII, IX, XII).
  • Awareness of the specific characteristics of social organizations and an interest in social impact measurement and sustainability controlling.
