About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect and develop educational materials and training programs for school personnel working with children and young adults with chronic illnesses and their families
  • Coordinate assigned program cases by maintaining contact with local and state agencies and parents
  • Ensure instructional, developmental, and related services are provided in the appropriate school setting
  • Assist state and parish educational administrators in assessing needs and developing relevant training programs
  • Implement training programs for administrators, faculty, staff, and students supporting students with complex health needs
  • Prepare grant records for submission to funding agencies by maintaining and compiling accurate records and data
  • Travel to local communities to provide direct support when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 to 3 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the education and development of children with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses preferred
  • Knowledge of current state and federal legislation and policies concerning educational services for children ages birth through 21 preferred
  • Special Education experience preferred
  • Clinical knowledge
