About the role
- Represent clients in all aspects of adoption cases, including initial consultations, filings, hearings, and finalization.
- Draft and review adoption petitions, agreements, and related legal documents.
- Advise clients on Texas adoption laws and regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the process.
- Coordinate with adoption agencies, social workers, and state agencies as necessary.
- Advocate for clients in court proceedings and negotiations.
- Manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
- Provide empathetic and client-centered service to individuals and families.
- Collaborate with the firm’s legal team and support staff to deliver exceptional results.
Requirements
- Two or more years of practicing adoption law in Texas. Five years of experience is highly preferred.
- Have a valid Texas bar license for a minimum of 2 years.
- Strong understanding of Texas Family Code and adoption procedures.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- A passion for conducting hearings and being in the courtroom, and handling Mediations and Consults.
- High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of TxDoc and Clio OR similar drafting/client management software, MS Office or Google Suite proficiency.
- Drafting of correspondence, pleadings, and discovery.
