About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide leadership and oversight to support the Board in meeting its duties of care, diligence and good faith.
Ensure the Committee operates effectively and assists the Board to discharge its responsibilities in relation to financial reporting, audit integrity, risk oversight, internal controls and compliance.
Promote a culture of integrity, transparency, informed challenge and sound decision‑making.
Oversee the Committee’s review of financial planning, budgeting and financial performance, ensuring accuracy of financial information provided to the Board.
Lead oversight of the appointment of the external auditor and ensure auditor independence and objectivity.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Senior‑level experience in finance, audit, risk, governance or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, audit processes, risk management frameworks and internal control systems.
Demonstrated experience chairing boards or committees and facilitating effective governance discussions.
Sound judgement, independence of thought and the ability to constructively challenge management.
Commitment to ethical conduct, accountability and the principles of good governance.
