About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership and oversight to support the Board in meeting its duties of care, diligence and good faith.
- Ensure the Committee operates effectively and assists the Board to discharge its responsibilities in relation to financial reporting, audit integrity, risk oversight, internal controls and compliance.
- Promote a culture of integrity, transparency, informed challenge and sound decision‑making.
- Oversee the Committee’s review of financial planning, budgeting and financial performance, ensuring accuracy of financial information provided to the Board.
- Lead oversight of the appointment of the external auditor and ensure auditor independence and objectivity.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior‑level experience in finance, audit, risk, governance or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, audit processes, risk management frameworks and internal control systems.
- Demonstrated experience chairing boards or committees and facilitating effective governance discussions.
- Sound judgement, independence of thought and the ability to constructively challenge management.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, accountability and the principles of good governance.
