About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support ongoing asset management of a portfolio of debt investments, including senior loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and structured credit investments
- Review borrower operating statements, financial reports, rent rolls, budgets, and business plans to assess performance
- Monitor loan covenants, reporting requirements, critical milestones, maturities, extension options, reserve balances, and servicing requirements
- Conduct quarterly portfolio reviews and prepare investment performance analyses
- Prepare asset management reports for internal management, clients, and investment committees
- Develop and maintain financial models for cash flow performance, loan repayment scenarios, refinancing risk, and expected returns
- Analyze market conditions, interest rate movements, and property-level performance trends
- Review and underwrite borrower requests, including consents, modifications, extensions, assumptions, and restructurings
- Coordinate with borrowers, lenders, property managers, servicers, legal counsel, and third-party consultants
- Lead AI-driven process improvement projects involving portfolio monitoring and reporting automation
- Prepare investment memoranda and presentations supporting portfolio strategy and investment committee decisions
- Track portfolio data across asset management and reporting platforms
- Assist with portfolio valuations, stress testing, risk management analyses, and special projects
- Identify portfolio risks and operational inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in asset management, commercial real estate finance, lending, private credit, investment management, or a related field
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Understanding of commercial real estate finance, credit analysis, loan documentation, and debt structures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to independently develop solutions to complex portfolio and investment challenges
- High attention to accuracy and ability to review own work
- Strong organizational and multitasking ability
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of AI tools and demonstrated interest in applying them professionally
- Openness to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technology environment
- Willingness to evaluate, pilot, and champion new AI tools
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
