About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive project execution across traffic operations and transportation engineering initiatives through implementation, ensuring alignment with broader team objectives
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Oversee and contribute to technical work related to: Traffic signal timing, coordination, and system optimization; Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations and corridor management; Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) planning and deployment; Signal system maintenance, asset management, and performance monitoring (SPM); Traffic operations studies, warrant analyses, and operational improvements; Traffic control plans and maintenance of traffic; Multimodal and Complete Streets initiatives, including traffic calming strategies
- Coordinate with municipalities, transportation agencies, contractors, and utility partners to support successful, on-time project delivery
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans; monitor progress and ensure quality outcomes
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and quality control for junior staff
- Present technical findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant transportation engineering and/or traffic operations experience
- Professional licensure (PE, TE, or similar) required
- Demonstrated knowledge of traffic operations principles and methodologies
- Experience with traffic analysis tools and industry software is preferred
- Proven experience managing projects, budgets, and client relationships
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
