About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the planning, design and permitting of landscape architecture, land development and planning projects;
  • Lead the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and designs for projects;
  • Mentor, train, and motivate staff.
  • Supervise, review and approve work of project staff;
  • Plan, schedule and develop task and project budgets.
  • Prepare progress reports and draft change orders;
  • Perform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and project timelines.
  • Minimize write-offs by keeping projects on budget;
  • Actively participate in and maintain a committee-level membership from a professional Landscape Architecture or technical society;
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture required
  • Master’s degree a plus
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Passion for design excellence and the challenges of creating inspiring places in urban environments
  • Professional landscape architect license
  • LEED AP or AICP certification considered a plus
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Prior project management experience with the ability to grow, lead, and cultivate staff
  • Knowledge of local, city, county, and state land use processes and regulations strongly preferred
  • Ability to interact well with senior leaders of the firm, coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Experience in report and proposal writing, billing, and budgeting
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Possess reliable transportation to access job sites and meetings and a valid driver’s license in good standing
