About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the planning, design and permitting of landscape architecture, land development and planning projects;
- Lead the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and designs for projects;
- Mentor, train, and motivate staff.
- Supervise, review and approve work of project staff;
- Plan, schedule and develop task and project budgets.
- Prepare progress reports and draft change orders;
- Perform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, and project timelines.
- Minimize write-offs by keeping projects on budget;
- Actively participate in and maintain a committee-level membership from a professional Landscape Architecture or technical society;
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture required
- Master’s degree a plus
- 10+ years of related experience
- Passion for design excellence and the challenges of creating inspiring places in urban environments
- Professional landscape architect license
- LEED AP or AICP certification considered a plus
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Prior project management experience with the ability to grow, lead, and cultivate staff
- Knowledge of local, city, county, and state land use processes and regulations strongly preferred
- Ability to interact well with senior leaders of the firm, coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Experience in report and proposal writing, billing, and budgeting
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Possess reliable transportation to access job sites and meetings and a valid driver’s license in good standing
