Environmental Engineer – Entry Level
Langan Engineering & Environmental ServicesEnvironmental Engineer, Scientist or Geologist supporting environmental and natural resources activities in Bethlehem, PA. Focusing on construction oversight, site investigation, and remediation tasks.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Construction observation and reporting;
- Field oversight of remediation activities and contractors, confirming compliance with job specifications;
- Coordination and communication between project team, contractors, and clients;
- Perform air, soil, gas, groundwater sampling;
- Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and collecting and recording data;
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation;
- Assist with aquatic resource delineations;
- Support threatened and endangered species assessment;
- Support permitting and compliance documentation;
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- 0-2 years of work-related experience
- Prior relevant internship or professional work experience preferred
- Applicants with an engineering degree are preferred to have EIT Certification, or current registration for FE exam
- Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
- Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations
- Fieldwork anticipated 50-70%
- Availability to work overtime and complete overnight stays as needed.
