About the role
- Perform complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling solutions for various public and private client projects; provide analysis for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects
- Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, design plans, specifications, construction schedules and engineer’s estimates for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
- Effectively use available maps, drawings, engineering plans/reports and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects
- Lead the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects. Coordinates and provides client communication
- Design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion
- Develop new clients for the firm and maintain relationships with existing clients
- Perform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Monitors budgets, schedules, and project timelines. Minimizes write-offs by keeping projects on budget
- Report and proposal writing. Write and review draft reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; concentration in Water Resources preferred
- Proficiency with HEC-RAS
- Expertise in stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design, and SWPPP preparation
- 5+ years of related experience
- PE preferred
- Have a Valid Professional Engineer License
- Prior relevant internship or professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion
- Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations
- Strong client development, client communication, client management abilities, and ability to develop new work
- Experienced in technical and proposal writing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
