About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D electrical drawings, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics and cable and conduit schedules
  • Develop 3D models of electrical equipment and facility layouts
  • Interpret electrical design specifications, sketches, and markups from engineers and convert them into CAD drawings
  • Maintain and organize drawing files with strong attention to CAD standards and drafting quality
  • Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and company guidelines
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, civil, etc.) to resolve design conflicts
  • Perform field visits to verify and gather site information for design accuracy
  • Assist with redlines, drawing updates, and document control processes
  • Check and review CAD deliverables for accuracy and compliance
  • Mentor and guide junior drafters and occasionally lead small drafting teams.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A.A.S. Degree in Electrical Drafting & Design or related technical field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical CAD drafting/design
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoDesk 3D products
  • Skillset in electrical modeling software: Elecdes and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D is a plus
  • Understanding electrical symbols, schematics, PLCs, control systems, panel design, hazardous area, and grounding
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, design documentation, and drafting quality control
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform design-related calculations
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and collaborate in a team environment.
