About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluating the patient’s financial circumstances and providing information regarding potential resources to patients
- Assisting patients with the submission of applications, obtaining required verification, documenting identity and citizenship according to DMAP standards
- Following up with patients to assure timely submission and acting as liaison with DMAP to eliminate barriers to eligibility determinations
- Maintaining regular, consistent, and predictable punctuality and attendance
- Demonstrating knowledge of all aspects of medical assistance programs available through the Department of Human Services
- Working with billing department to identify potential covered charges that can be billed to DMAP or other insurance carrier
- Meeting in person, with patients referred by reception or other clinic staff
- Enrolling patients via-phone or virtually
- Providing monthly status reports to Management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise and positive outcomes in difficult interactions
- Basic knowledge of Excel, SharePoint and Office Suite
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work (EPIC)
