About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluating the patient’s financial circumstances and providing information regarding potential resources to patients
  • Assisting patients with the submission of applications, obtaining required verification, documenting identity and citizenship according to DMAP standards
  • Following up with patients to assure timely submission and acting as liaison with DMAP to eliminate barriers to eligibility determinations
  • Maintaining regular, consistent, and predictable punctuality and attendance
  • Demonstrating knowledge of all aspects of medical assistance programs available through the Department of Human Services
  • Working with billing department to identify potential covered charges that can be billed to DMAP or other insurance carrier
  • Meeting in person, with patients referred by reception or other clinic staff
  • Enrolling patients via-phone or virtually
  • Providing monthly status reports to Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise and positive outcomes in difficult interactions
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, SharePoint and Office Suite
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work (EPIC)
