About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct HR support and guidance to employees
- Resolve employee HR issues and handle HR-related transactions from new-hire onboarding through performance evaluations, benefits, and departures
- Relay information on HR policies, payroll, and related topics to customers
- Identify trends and share insights with management to improve HR services
- Own complex cases and provide resolutions
- Mentor, train, and coach junior colleagues
- Drive knowledge management and maintain an up-to-date HR knowledge base
- Act as the primary point of contact for new hires throughout pre-boarding and onboarding
- Manage end-to-end onboarding for executive and non-executive hires across the US and Canada
- Organize and facilitate pre-onboarding, onboarding, and Day 1 sessions
- Ensure onboarding documentation is completed and maintained
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, Payroll, Benefits, and Global Onboarding teams
- Support managers with onboarding setup, asset requests, and Workday transactions
- Resolve pre-employment screening discrepancies with external vendors
- Maintain country-specific documentation, contracts, labor-law requirements, and compliance processes
- Process onboarding exceptions including rescinds, no-shows, and start-date changes
- Coordinate accurate employee setup and data integrity with Payroll and Benefits
- Maintain onboarding records, documentation repositories, and Workday activities
- Monitor onboarding metrics and contribute to process improvements
- Provide guidance on onboarding policies, procedures, and best practices
- Manage U.S. employment eligibility and immigration compliance, including I-9, E-Verify, Department of Defense employment verifications, and immigration petition support
- Lead onboarding compliance and regulatory reporting, including Workday onboarding controls and Canadian government workforce surveys
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of related experience or relevant combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience using an HRIS system, preferably Workday or similar software
- Strong experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and onboarding operations
- Knowledge of U.S. labor legislation, compliance requirements, and contractual obligations
- Knowledge of Canadian labor legislation and compliance highly desirable
- Experience with HR systems, particularly Workday and ServiceNow
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multinational environment
- Commitment to delivering a positive employee experience and high-quality HR services
- Bachelor degree preferred but not required
