About the role
- Collaborate with architects and developers to define test strategies for application migration and modernization efforts.
- Design and execute test plans for migrated applications, ensuring functional equivalence and data integrity.
- Perform end-to-end testing across legacy and target environments (e.g., AS/400 to cloud).
- Conduct regression, integration, system, performance, and security testing.
- Validate data migration accuracy using SQL queries, ETL tools, and reconciliation scripts.
- Automate test cases using tools like Selenium, Postman, JMeter, or Cypress.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, defect reports, and traceability matrices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines.
- Work closely with business users to support UAT and post-migration validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of QA experience, with at least 1–2 years in application migration projects.
- Strong understanding of testing across legacy systems and cloud platforms (e.g., AS400, HP Tandem, Azure, AWS).
- Experience with manual and automated testing tools.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
- Familiarity with API testing, RESTful services, and service virtualization.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience as a test lead developing test strategies and test plans.
- Ability to identify opportunities for automation and to select automation frameworks for particular engagements.
