Key responsibilities & impact

Process salaries accurately and on time according to the payroll calendar
Manage taxes, deductions, and employee benefits
Distribute salaries through payroll vendors and treasury
Deliver payslips securely and maintain payroll documentation
Ensure taxation and labor law compliance
Conduct internal and external audits and reporting according to governance requirements
Maintain records and protect payroll data according to legal and organizational guidelines
Manage payroll software implementation and HRIS integration with HR and finance systems
Support and drive global payroll systems implementation and transformation projects
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors for seamless project execution
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and optimize payroll operations
Analyze data to mitigate risks, identify trends, and inform project planning
Support HR Services with Level 2 payroll escalation and query resolution
Ensure team awareness of operating rhythms and procedures
Use metrics, SLAs, analytics, dashboards, and data to improve efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on working knowledge of end-to-end payroll operations
Ability to drive payroll standardization to global SOPs while ensuring local compliance
Knowledge of industry best practices
Ability to apply agile project management principles to payroll transformation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to educate teams on new payroll processes and technologies
Knowledge of global, regional, and local payroll laws
Experience implementing internal controls, audits, and forensic payroll audits
Knowledge of GDPR, SOC 1, ISO 27001, and other security standards
Experience with cloud-based payroll solutions such as SAP, Workday, ADP, or EY
Ability to track payroll cost, accuracy, efficiency, cycle times, employee experience, and compliance KPIs
Predictive analytics for labor and payroll cost forecasting
Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies
Vendor SLA management and global workforce compliance
Fiscal competence in managing payroll budgets and optimizing payroll expenses
