About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across platforms and services
  • Work on technology and modernization initiatives for major clients
  • Manage systems data and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance
  • Oversee assignment queues and work directly with technicians to prioritize tickets
  • Recommend modernization options, identify new business opportunities, and cultivate stakeholder relationships
  • Provide technical support for planning, coordinating, installing, implementing, and testing CICS and related ISV product releases, upgrades, and changes
  • Install, upgrade, and migrate CICS Transaction Servers
  • Install, upgrade, and support IBM and ISV-related products
  • Provide primary on-call support for CICS and associated ISV products
  • Perform problem determination and resolution within expected timeframes
  • Diagnose CICS system and related product issues and conduct root cause analysis
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and scheduled tests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineer with 8+ years of experience in CICS system programming
  • Experience in CICS Transaction Server and related ISV products
  • Basic knowledge of z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, and third-party products
  • Capable of upgrading, installing, and supporting IBM and ISV-related products
  • Proficient in P2V, V2V, and P2P migrations
  • Experience with performance tuning and workload balancing in CICS
  • Familiarity with CICS monitoring tools, including Omegamon for CICS, BMC MainView, and IBM CICS Performance Analyzer
  • Knowledge of CICS Web Services, MQ integration, and DB2 connectivity
  • Experience with RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret security administration for CICS
  • Process-driven management of technical operations and support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow projects through to completion and contribute to complex projects
  • Ability to develop, document, and maintain procedures for backup/restore, performance tuning, and environment configuration
