About the role
- Lead and manage the Data Engineering squad (internal team and external partners)
- Own delivery, capacity, and operational performance across legacy and target platforms
- Ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and cost optimization
- Structure and drive the bootstrap of the target Data Platform
- Plan and execute the progressive migration from legacy to target stack
- Secure delivery of ongoing business and client projects on both stacks
- Define and enforce Data Engineering standards and ways of working
- Act as the main interface with Data Product, Architecture, and IT stakeholders
- Support and enable local Data teams on Data technology stacks
Requirements
- Proven experience as Data Engineering Manager / Lead in complex, transitional environments
- Strong background in data platforms and data engineering
- Solid experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake, ideally on Azure
- Experience managing mixed teams (internal, consultants, offshore/AMS)
- Strong understanding of run, incident management, and cost control
- Experience with legacy-to-target platform migration
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Senior profile required (autonomous, pragmatic, delivery-focused)
