About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individual and group psychotherapy for adults.
- Develop and maintain person-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and level-of-care determinations
- Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment approaches, and symptom management to support insight, empowerment, and recovery
- Design and deliver engaging process, psychoeducational and skills groups focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, and mental wellness.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and fellow therapists to provide integrated mental health care
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and discharge planning
- Case management services such as, but not limited to, coordinated care with families, referral sources, and external providers as appropriate
- Demonstrate commitment to excellent patient care, which is measured through clinical outcomes, such as patient retention, attendance, successful program completion, transitioning from one level of care to another.
- Provide crisis support through a shared on-call rotation
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and timely
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Work in person at our Columbia, MD location
- Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
- Active independent licensure: LGSW, LCSW, LMSW, LCPC, LGPC
- Strong working knowledge of CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care
- Minimum 2 years of direct clinical experience providing mental health treatment
- Comfort using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and professional growth
- EMDR training or certification (Preferred)
- Experience working with adults in substance use recovery or OTP setting (Preferred)
- Comfort working with both adolescents and adults (Preferred)
