About the role
- Serve as a Senior Associate Attorney on wage-and-hour, employment, and consumer class and representative actions in Illinois and federal courts
- Lead and manage all phases of complex civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation
- Draft, edit, and argue substantive motions, including dispositive and class-related motions, in state and federal courts
- Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts, and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony
- Develop and execute case strategy in collaboration with firm leadership and junior team members
- Appear remotely and in person for court hearings, conferences, and other proceedings as needed
- Mentor junior attorneys and staff, helping to develop best practices and strengthen the Illinois practice
- Travel occasionally for hearings, depositions, mediations, and internal meetings
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing
- Several years of civil litigation experience, ideally 5+ years, including substantial discovery, motion practice, and taking/defending depositions
- Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and/or wage-and-hour or employment matters strongly preferred
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills with a strategic, detail-oriented approach
- Proven ability to independently manage complex cases and a busy litigation docket in a remote environment
- Professional, steady work history and strong client-facing skills
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and an interest in helping grow a high-performing, plaintiff-side practice in Illinois
