About the role
- Gather and document project requirements
- Perform conceptual feasibility studies
- Project planning, cost and scheduling
- Analog and digital PCB design using CAD tools (OrCAD, PSpice, LTSim preferred)
- Conduct circuit, noise, timing, thermal/cooling, electrical load and FPGA analyses
- Define interfaces with other critical sub-systems
- Plan and execute design validation, firmware and system integration
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Optical, Software, Systems and Manufacturing engineering teams
- Provide technical leadership and investigate next-generation electrical engineering technologies
- Support detailed analysis and tradeoffs and recommend solutions
Requirements
- Occasional travel up to 10%
- Ability to be proactive, independent and to possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Preferred expertise in low noise linear analog circuitry and characteristics of analog components
- Preferred expertise in high-speed digital design, data acquisition, and signal integrity
- Preferred expertise with CCD sensors and image acquisition
- Understanding of capabilities and coding techniques of advanced FPGA devices
- Proficient in use of advanced electronics laboratory equipment
- Experience with analog and digital PCB design using CAD tools (OrCAD, PSpice, LTSim preferred)
- Ability to investigate next generation electrical engineering technology and provide technical leadership
- Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate + 5 years OR Master's + 8 years OR Bachelor's + 12 years
