About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and lead research and analysis related to Medicare policy
- Maintain active knowledge of the Medicare program to inform policy discussions
- Provide timely, fact-based, policy-relevant data for policymakers, the media, and the public
- Work both independently and collaboratively with other team members
- Engage with external communications responding to inquiries from media, policymakers, and stakeholders
- Present work and maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, trust, and integrity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of Medicare and the key issues and agencies
- Graduate degree (master’s or PhD) in health economics, health policy, public policy, public administration, business, or related field preferred
- At least 5 years of work experience in the government or health care/health sector industry, research, or consulting roles
- Fluency and familiarity with health care data analysis, research methods, and statistical and economic concepts
- Ability to interpret and clearly communicate data analysis and research findings for non-technical audiences
- Experience analyzing survey data, claims data, and/or other administrative data sources using R and/or SAS
- Highly organized, detail oriented,
- Strong communication skills
