About the role

  • Support Lead Advisor of a large book of business including managing client needs regarding service, asset allocation, case design and financial planning
  • Prepare for and follow-up on client meetings including assembling paperwork, account reviews, report generation and meeting documentation
  • Consult with clients on investment strategies; deliver advice and participate in client reviews
  • Manage data and plans in financial planning software
  • Execute portfolio trading and investment processing with high attention to detail
  • Prepare to learn technical aspects of advisor role and service clients independently
  • Identify sales and asset retention opportunities and propose alternatives
  • Deepen client relationships and establish credibility in person and via phone
  • Clearly articulate complex concepts to clients
  • Proactively communicate with clients and follow up on assigned contacts
  • Manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities daily
  • Engage in marketing and sales efforts on behalf of the firm (not required to build own book)
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, customer focus, and teamwork
  • Develop centers of influence such as community involvement, CPAs and attorneys
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of financial services industry and diverse investment products
  • Bachelor’s degree (finance, accounting or related field preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry (strong understanding of broker/dealer operations and financial services products)
  • Experience with equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accounts
  • Previous experience in the independent financial services culture preferred
  • Series 7 and 63 required
  • Series 65/66 preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • CFP or CIMA preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external partners
