About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conducting fire door inspections, compartmentation surveys, and other fire safety assessments across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
  • Working directly with residents, contractors, and clients on site, building strong professional relationships.
  • Identifying breaches in fire compartmentation, including fire door defects, and assessing existing fire safety measures.
  • Producing clear, detailed reports with practical recommendations to help clients improve compliance and building safety.
  • Maintaining your professional knowledge through ongoing CPD and fire safety training.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant experience in fire safety, building surveying, or a related field.
  • Experience carrying out fire door and compartmentation surveys, or experience in a similar role.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely.
  • Field-based role covering Central and Greater London, with occasional travel to clients further afield.
  • Willing to stay away overnight for jobs that are more than 1.5 hours travel from home.
  • Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
  • Enhanced DBS check required (arranged by Karntek).
  • FDIS Diploma or a recognised fire stopping qualification would be advantageous.
