About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Establish and lead the internal accounting function and take full ownership of end-to-end accounting processes, including general ledger, fixed assets, and transfer pricing across a group of two German entities and one Cyprus operating entity.
Independently own and deliver high-quality, timely month-end and year-end closings, as well as all audit preparation and execution.
Ensure strong compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements, including Bundesbank reporting and statutory filings.
Act as the primary strategic accounting partner for internal stakeholders (CFO, Associate Director of Finance) and external partners (tax advisors, auditors, suppliers), including sign-off on statutory filings.
Drive the transformation of our financial processes by implementing continuous improvements and designing smart, scalable accounting workflows to support rapid growth.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of professional experience in accounting, audit, or controlling.
Hands-on expertise in German local GAAP and IFRS.
Demonstrated experience independently managing and leading full financial cycles, including month-end and year-end closings and external audits.
Advanced proficiency in financial systems/ERPs, with hands-on experience in DATEV and designing efficient accounting infrastructure.
Foundational knowledge of German tax and corporate law.
Highly structured and analytical mindset with a strong bias for automation and technology-driven solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; fluent in German and English (written and verbal).
Prior experience in a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment.
