About the role

Automate the provisioning of Juniper Square’s infrastructure in code
Partner with Platform Engineering to build developer tooling and improve developer experience
Partner with Data Engineering to improve data posture and drive operational excellence
Evolve deployment pipelines to automate infrastructure deployments
Improve metrics on main services and act as subject matter expert for global dev teams
Enable observability, SLO/SLI reporting, and respond to business-impacting incidents related to infrastructure
Adopt and drive solutions aligned with AWS Well-Architected frameworks and business objectives
Identify performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations for improvement
Proactively identify and solve unforeseen problems
Help build, deploy, and scale a load testing environment analogous to production
Enforce security and operational safety controls
Participate in technical roadmap planning and estimation
Participate and contribute in production readiness and architecture review board meetings and forums
Train and mentor future engineers in the region
Contribute to architectural improvements to meet future scaling and observability requirements

Experience with AWS
Experience with PostgreSQL
Experience with cloud security best practices (CSPM, CDR, CWPP, SIEM, etc)
Experience with containers (builds, registries, vulnerability scanning, docker-compose, TILT, schedulers/orchestration systems)
Multi-year hands-on experience and fluency with Kubernetes and helm charts
Experience with a CI/CD pipeline (Github Actions, ArgoCD, Helm, GitOps or similar)
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, etc)
Knowledge/exposure to Python and/or Typescript
Experience breaking up monolithic architectures into microservices
Experience with service meshes and service discovery solutions
Experience with observability solutions (New Relic, Prometheus, DataDog, etc)
Experience with logging systems (CloudWatch, ELK, Splunk, etc)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar OR equivalent experience
