About the role

  • Full responsibility for the go-to-market in China (strategy → launch → scale)
  • Develop and implement a Douyin-first social commerce approach
  • Platform and content management
  • Set up and manage our accounts on Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Tmall Global & WeChat
  • Build a local KOL/creator network
  • Localize products, claims, packaging and storytelling for the Chinese market
  • Test claims, hooks & viral content
  • Manage relevant NMPA and CBEC processes
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, customs and product-related requirements
  • Establish a bonded warehouse model and all CBEC logistics processes
  • Own the business case for China
  • Regular reporting to the C-level
  • Manage external agencies and service partners
  • Build a small, cross-functional China project team
  • Work closely with Regulatory, Supply Chain, Brand & Marketing teams in Germany

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the Chinese e-commerce, social commerce or beauty ecosystem
  • Deep hands-on experience with Douyin, Tmall Global, livestreaming, and KOL/creator management
  • Confidence in handling regulatory matters
  • Proven track record supporting market entries or scaling of Western brands in China
  • Strong strategic thinking while being hands-on and operational
  • Excellent project management skills and an ownership mindset
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with platforms and agencies
  • Deep understanding of Chinese beauty culture and consumer needs
  • Mandarin: fluent
  • English: very good
  • German: nice to have
