About the role
- Manage the financial reporting processes, assuring timely month-end closure and reporting to the management team and investors
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and Grants
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, external reporting to INE, and corporate governance requirements (e.g. ESG reporting)
- Collaborate with the internal business teams, external accountants, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless reporting and updated forecasts
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the financial integrity of the organization
- Collaborate with the Research team to apply for and maintain relevant Grants and Tax Incentives (supported by an external Grants Advisor)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Previous relevant working experience (5+ years) within financial accounting and/or reporting
- Strong expertise in Management Accounting and Reporting
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite) and Excel
- Fluent in English (at least B2) and Portuguese (both oral and written) - mandatory
