About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Structure and evolve the Directorate's AI Governance model
  • Define policies, guidelines, standards, procedures and responsibilities for the development, procurement and use of AI solutions
  • Incorporate governance requirements into the lifecycle of AI solutions
  • Establish criteria and control points for the evaluation and approval of initiatives
  • Create and maintain an inventory of models, agents, assistants, use cases, knowledge bases and AI systems
  • Classify initiatives according to impact, criticality and risk level
  • Conduct or support risk and impact assessments related to AI
  • Define requirements for transparency, documentation, traceability, explainability, security, human oversight and accountability
  • Provide guidance on the use of generative AI, language models, assistants, agents and RAG-based applications
  • Support the evaluation and procurement of models, platforms, tools and AI vendors
  • Define metrics to track adoption, risks, outcomes and the effectiveness of AI Governance
  • Establish mechanisms for logging, analyzing and handling incidents and deviations related to AI
  • Produce policies, guides, opinions, checklists, documentation templates and assessment instruments
  • Advise teams, managers and partners on applying AI Governance requirements
  • Work closely with Information Security, Privacy, Legal, Engineering, Operations, Project Management and business areas
  • Carry out awareness, training and guidance actions on responsible AI use
  • Translate AI Governance policies and requirements into technical rules and verifiable criteria
  • Design policies, controls and automated compliance tests as code
  • Define governance gates according to risk and criticality
  • Support the integration of controls into development pipelines, CI/CD, MLOps and LLMOps
  • Automate checks for documentation, traceability, security, privacy, quality and performance
  • Establish versioning standards for models, prompts, knowledge bases, policies and configurations
  • Define mechanisms for the automatic generation and preservation of compliance evidence
  • Support monitoring of performance, drift, biases, security, costs and behavior of solutions
  • Define alerts and responses for policy violations and breaches of criteria
  • Maintain traceability between policy, implemented control and produced evidence
  • Create reusable governance controls and components
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for AI application
  • Guide teams to consider AI from the conception of initiatives
  • Define evaluation criteria for value, risk, cost, impact and sustainability
  • Enable responsible experimentation with controls proportional to risk
  • Create standards and reusable components to accelerate safe AI adoption
  • Promote balance between innovation, agility, security and accountability
  • Monitor results and benefits of the AI First transformation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration with an emphasis on technology, or related fields
  • Other degrees may be considered given proven experience in technology governance, risk management, data or AI
  • Senior or specialist profile, with autonomy to design models and guide teams
  • 5 years of experience in technology, data, AI, governance, risk or digital transformation
  • Experience defining or implementing policies, standards, processes, controls or governance models
  • Experience in multidisciplinary projects and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience producing technical documentation, opinions, risk matrices and assessment instruments
  • AI governance and responsible AI principles
  • Risk management and impact assessment of AI systems
  • Lifecycle of Machine Learning and generative AI solutions
  • Language models, assistants, agents and RAG
  • Transparency, explainability, fairness, robustness and human oversight
  • Privacy, data protection and security applied to AI
  • MLOps, LLMOps, CI/CD, observability and monitoring
  • Policy as Code, Compliance as Code, Security as Code and Governance as Code
  • Model registries, versioning, lineage and evidence management
  • Evaluation of platforms, models, tools and AI vendors
  • Functional knowledge of Python, SQL, YAML, JSON, APIs and code repositories
  • Ability to translate policies and requirements into applicable rules, tests and controls
  • Postgraduate degree in AI, Data Science, IT Governance, Information Security, Risk Management, Privacy, Digital Law or related areas (desired)
  • Courses or certifications in AI Governance, responsible AI, risk management, MLOps, LLMOps, security, privacy or cloud (desired)
  • Direct experience in AI Governance, responsible AI, automation of controls, Policy as Code, Compliance as Code, Security as Code or Governance as Code (differential)
