About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop plans, specification and cost estimates for water resource projects.
Review shop plans and contract submittals.
Assist with coordination of the bidding process.
Analyze bids and recommend awarding of contracts.
Develop relationships with contacts within and outside of the Department of Natural Resources to facilitate project development.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with a degree in engineering.
Requires three years or more experience in the field of engineering.
Requires Professional Engineering License in the State of Illinois.
Working knowledge of project design review and preparation preferred.
Prefers two (2) years of experience working with bidding process for contracts.
Prefers one (1) year of experience in project coordinator with State and Federal agencies.
Prefers one (1) year of working experience of public works and construction projects.
