About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Become a trusted partner to Engineering teams, using your technical knowledge for informed sourcing decisions
- Participate in make-versus-buy decisions for new products
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, manufacturing technologies, and technical risks
- Identify and develop suppliers that can support future product roadmaps
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, and commercial negotiations
- Develop cost models and support cost reduction initiatives throughout the product lifecycle
- Build strategic supplier relationships that drive innovation, quality, and responsiveness
- Manage supply risks, supplier performance, and business continuity
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Production, or similar)
- Several years of experience in product development, manufacturing, NPI, supplier quality, industrialization, or related technical roles
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Interest in developing expertise within sourcing, procurement, and supplier management
