About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • develops, coordinates, and maintains statewide recruitment efforts on behalf of the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR).
  • collaborates with leadership to develop retention strategies, identifying key factors that influence employee turnover.
  • serves as a full line supervisor.
  • directs, coordinates, and participates in a variety of special projects, many of which are of a sensitive and confidential nature.
  • performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration
  • prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
  • three (3) years of professional experience performing recruitment for an organization through attendance at job fairs and speaking with potential candidates.
  • one (1) year of experience conducting recruitment and retention functions and/or enhance engagement efforts with the public.
  • three (3) years of experience using technology to arrange, participate, and lead virtual presentations.
  • two (2) years of experience supervising staff (i.e., approving time off, enforcing discipline, training, providing feedback, etc.).
  • Requires the ability to successfully complete a tax compliance and fingerprint-based background check.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
  • Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
