About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serves as a technical expert to lower-level Child Support Specialists
- Reviews and reconciles the more complex child support case records
- Interprets and reviews support orders, both judicial and administrative
- Resolves customer service issues through direct customer contact
- Serves as an expert witness in court and at administrative hearings
- Assists with planning and implementing judicial, administrative, and legislative policies relating to child support services
- Translates information and documents into Spanish for non-English speaking people
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires two (2) years of Child Support Specialist I experience
- Requires extensive knowledge of court and administrative practices related to parentage and child support
- Requires extensive experience in applying analytical tools to assess a child support case
- Requires ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level
- Requires the ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
- Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
