About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serves as a technical expert to lower-level Child Support Specialists
Reviews and reconciles the more complex child support case records
Interprets and reviews support orders, both judicial and administrative
Resolves customer service issues through direct customer contact
Serves as an expert witness in court and at administrative hearings
Assists with planning and implementing judicial, administrative, and legislative policies relating to child support services
Translates information and documents into Spanish for non-English speaking people

Requirements

What you’ll need

Requires two (2) years of Child Support Specialist I experience
Requires extensive knowledge of court and administrative practices related to parentage and child support
Requires extensive experience in applying analytical tools to assess a child support case
Requires ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level
Requires the ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
