About the role

  • Under general direction, serves as a Junior Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDoR), performing difficult and specialized professional work in Web Application Development Services, serving as an application developer for a system or subsystem(s) of average complexity and prepares general design, detail design, and program specifications documentation.
  • Serves as support for scheduled and remedial maintenance to assigned websites and web applications.
  • Assists in the integration and development of web-based solutions by applying foundational programming skills and collaborating with technical teams to ensure high-quality, standards-compliant applications.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related field.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience designing, developing and maintaining dynamic, public-facing websites using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or comparable web content management systems, utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON to support system integration and enhance digital solutions.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience administering SharePoint Site Collections, including site configuration, list / library management, permissions, and integration with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse) and the use of DAX calculations and SQL queries to support collaborative business solutions.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience developing and implementing form-based data collection solutions using AEM Forms for adaptive HTML forms, AEM Forms Designer (formally LiveCycle Designer) for dynamic PDF forms, Adobe Acrobat for static PDF forms, and scripting with JavaScript and FormCalc, ensuring data integrity and user accessibility across platforms.
