About the role
- Prepares alternate designs for location studies.
- Reviews location studies prepared by consultants and other agencies for completeness according to policy and procedures.
- Assists with informational meetings, public hearings, and presentations to describe projects.
- Prepares detailed studies and plans and specifications.
- Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
- Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college OR master's degree in engineering OR Engineer Intern License in the state of Illinois.
- 43 months of civil engineering experience.
- Ability to conduct engineering research and to write technical reports.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
