About the role

  • Organizes, computes, and leads staff engaged in the preparation, computation, and processing of agency payroll, providing responsible oversight in the performance of complex and confidential payroll functions.
  • Serves as the Agency Timekeeper, performing the full range of complex, specialized, and confidential duties relating to master timekeeping function.
  • As a human resources generalist, supports multiple aspects of the human resources division to ensure execution of smooth day-to-day operations and accommodate both employees and organizational leadership.
  • Serves as designated lead worker.
  • Supports agency onboarding and offboarding in reference to payroll and timekeeping functions.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college and one year of professional experience, preferably in human resources, or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
  • Requires five (5) or more years of experience overseeing and managing the processing of complex payroll functions including back wage claims, salary reversals, and lapse and supplemental payrolls for a public or private organization.
  • Requires one (1) or more year of experience working with reporting systems including Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and Central Payroll.
  • Requires five (5) or more years of experience overseeing and managing a timekeeping or attendance tracking software system for a public or private organization.
  • Requires five (5) or more years of experience applying bargaining unit contract language as it relates specifically to payroll and timekeeping.
  • Requires three (3) or more years of experience serving in an official lead worker capacity, providing guidance and instruction to a team of peers OR three (3) or more years of experience serving as a supervisor, managing and directing the daily activities of subordinate staff.
