About the role

  • Under administrative direction, serves as the Office Automation Senior Architect for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing complex, professional, and advisory functions and services of a complex nature including architecting, governing, planning, designing, documenting, deploying, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting development of complex State of Illinois websites.
  • Serves as a project team lead and coordinator on assigned complex IT projects.
  • Evaluates and monitors tools and platform environments ensuring their operational health including availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability
  • Serves as primary support for scheduled and remedial maintenance of applications and platforms as assigned.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Web Services or a related Information Technology field.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience with architecture, governance, development, and configuration of complex applications within the Microsoft 365 environment, including integration with enterprise-level applications and solutions.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience building enterprise applications, automated workflows, reports, and configurations utilizing Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, Power Automate, Power Apps) SharePoint, Teams, and One Drive.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience leading complex IT related projects for a large scale private or public organization, including coordinating cross-functional teams and managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
