About the role
- Designs, develops, and tests mechanical systems and products, often leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- Manages all stages of a project, from budgeting and scheduling to coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Conducts analyses such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to evaluate designs for performance, reliability, and safety.
- Oversees the entire product lifecycle, from initial design concepts through prototyping, testing, validation, and transfer to manufacturing.
- Investigates system/equipment failures and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues to diagnose faulty operations and recommend effective remedies.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Typically requires 5–10 years or more of experience in mechanical design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
- Experience with engineering analysis tools such as FEA and CFD.
- Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
