About the role
- Manage, direct, and plan the work of the Individual Processing Division.
- Conduct and participate in staff meetings.
- Serve as a full line supervisor and IDOR spokesperson covering assigned scope with various stakeholders.
- Review reports submitted by staff for propriety and consistency.
- Serve as liaison with IT staff to coordinate and plan projects.
- Monitor and analyze Division training needs.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
- Preferred: Four years of experience working with current Illinois and Federal tax laws, rules, and regulations with special emphasis on the Illinois Income Tax Act.
- Preferred: Four years of experience as a supervisor.
- Preferred: Three years of experience in a supervisory role in a tax return processing operation.
- Preferred: Four years of current experience with Individual Income Tax (IIT) returns, accounts, and processes.
- Preferred: Two years of experience developing and implementing methods, procedures, and standards to support program or project goals.
- Preferred: Two years of experience using GenTax, MyTax Illinois, or similar tax software systems.
- A bachelor's degree or higher level of education in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Communications, or related field.
- Licensure as a CPA, CGFM, or PMP.
